Hai Di Lao in Shinjuku

On Friday evening, we went to Shinjuku to look for Mamachari (mom's bike). We are looking for an electrical bicycle with child seat either in front or at the back of it. Basically, my husband is the one who asked for information of different Mamachari from a passionate salesman. After around 30 minutes / an hour, my husband has decided on one of the Mamachari with child seat in front of it.

After purchasing the Mamachari, we headed for dinner but most of the restaurants that we wanted to go are closed as it is already almost 10 pm. Finally, after walking and searching for about 30 minutes, we entered Hai Di Lao which operating until 6am. >< Hai Di Lao is a Chinese Steamboat Restaurant with branches in many countries. As we are having a baby stroller, the waiter provided a baby seat attached to the table and the baby stroller being put near the entrance. They offered us a child dinnerware set too. However, my husband was hugging baby most of the time and did not use the dinnerware.

I ordered a combination of Pig Stomach Pepper Soup Base and Pork Knuckle Soup Base. The Pig Stomach Pepper Soup Base is superb and we both like it. My husband ordered beef, different types of mushrooms, quail eggs, prawns, tofu skin (Yuba) and Kungfu Noodles. There is a counter for us to take whatever dipping sauce that we like. I got Shacha Sauce and Chinese Chives Sauce while my husband got the Japanese Ponzu. The waiters and waitresses who served us are all Chinese. Before Kungfu Noodle is served, a waiter came to our table for a performance of noodle-pulling.

We left some mushrooms unfinished as we were both too full. >< I have enjoyed the meal time very much compared to eating at other Japanese Restaurants. Partly because I felt at my home country by speaking with Chinese waiters and waitresses. Also, my husband was the one who feed milk to baby and also hugging baby all the time so that I could fully enjoy the meal.
